RARE Victorian sterling enamel Collar necklace Bracelet FIT FOR A QUEEN

This is one of the most fantastic antique sets I have ever sold and I really hope it gets a GREAT home. It really should be in a museum because the key hole design on each of the MANY filigree enameled links is like something out of the Victorian Jewelry books that you can only dream about. Super nice quality and very heavy ( 144 grams), this domed necklace fits on the neck like it was meant for royalty. Because of the unique shape it actually is dimensional when worn and because of there are links on both sides of this masterpiece, it fits so well you can hardly tell it is on . You are buying BOTH the necklace and the bracelet. The necklace has hidden clasp so it is one continuous beautiful snake like collar. It measures 15 1/4” when closed and 1 1/4” wide. The bracelet is 7 1/2” long and 1 1/4” wide and it has its original safety chain and also has a hidden clasp. The black enameling is subtle enough to bring dimension to each and every panel ( 24 in the necklace) and other then light wear to the black in some places this set is in GREAT condition. Not signed and certainly a piece that was probably one of a kind, this is the ONE to be lucky enough to own and to brag on how only YOU have such a marvelous old ( late 1800-1900) set!!!

19th CENTURY DRAGON SNAKE Sterling Necklace & RING

This genuine carnelian necklace has Chimera ( part dragon, snake, fish) all long the edges of the center pendant ( Clasp is hidden underneath that ). Take a good look at how many there are ( they are on all sides of the large setting. The center carved carnelian is of a bird. The total wearable length is 14 1/2” long and the pendant is 1 1/2” across ( marked sterling on the back). The beads graduate up to about 1/2” and are hand knotted. The ring was with this when we got it and it too is sterling ( although I am not sure it is original to it. This is a size 7 and the setting is quite large being a little over 1/2” wide. IT is marked sterling on the inside as well. This is an OLD set and I doubt you will ever see another like it. The medieval metal work on this is awesome! You are getting both the ring and necklace and they are both in very good condition. Truly an heirloom!

Victorian Heart Locket Charm bracelet Teeth opal ivory glass figurals and more

What a neat old bracelet that has a collection of the most unusual charms from teeth to lockets to keys. The bracelet is a heavy brass with etchings which helps date it on the late 1800’s to early 1900’s. It is really thick with beautiful metal work. The charms are as follows : a pre-ban ivory elephant, a tear drop locket, a real carnelian mystical crystal, a repousse heart locket ( there are 2 of those) a shell, a deco locket with a genuine opal, a smaller heart locket, a really strange TOOTH, a thick two sided carnelian and onyx book charm ( looks like a locket but I can’t find a way to get into it)and a figural bear. This measures 7 1/2” long and the chain is almost 1/2” wide. Lots of vintage charms that look like they must have been collected over the the last two centuries. Has not been polished or cleaned. Sold as found.

Vintage Victorian woman portrait seed pearl Necklace

This large pendant of raised relief has two colors of gilding on it and that really makes the woman in the center stand out. Surrounding her are the tiniest seed pearls I have ever seen. The pendant is large ( 2 1/2” and the intricate slim chain is 28” long. The woman has upswept hair and a flower in her hair that matches her flower on the collar of her dress. This is in very good condition and is really pretty. I love the long chain which makes this wearable with many more things!

GORGEOUS Victorian mourning enamel onyx slide filigree hinged bracelet

These photos show you all the detail that makes a mourning piece something to behold. This has rich black enamel all the way around it that is set in open work metal. The center piece is beautiful onyx cab with rich lace metal around it. This is ormolu ( not gold plate) which is something you don't find in a lot of jewelry. Notice the rich gold color as compared to gold plate. When you open it you see the slide is actually a beautiful pierced metal work that is rare and unusual. Usually it is just a plain flat bar that goes inside the bracelet. This is 7 1/4" long on the inside when closed. It is 3/4" wide and in great working condition too!

Fancy SIGNED ARTS and Crafts SASH BUCKLE
The Arts and Crafts movement was a British and American aesthetic movement occurring in the last years of the 19th century and the early years of the 20th century. Inspired by the writings of John Ruskin and a romantic idealisation of the craftsman taking pride in his personal handiwork, it was at its height between approximately 1880 and 1910.
This is one of the heaviest, most solid pieces I had seen in a while from that period and I realized that it was actually hand crafted and signed by a craftsman ( see marks on the back). It measures 2 1/2” x 2” and has a working center piece. This is in great shape with the marks of RLM in cartouches. It would date from the 180's - 1900's .The gilt is in good shape, with a rich golden luster.

ANTIQUE JAPANESE GODDESS Porcelain IVORY EARRINGS MUST SEE THESE!!

These are SIGNED antique ivory or ivory porcelain Japanese Goddess earrings that ARE GORGEOUS! Most of the coloring is embedded into the porcelain or ivory except the 24KT gold on her headress. Her name is Benzaiten, and she is the sea goddess. AND she is the sole female among the Seven Lucky Gods of Japan. Her temples and shrines are almost invariably in the neighborhood of water -- the sea, a river, or a pond. She is the patroness of music, the fine arts (dancing, acting, visual), and good fortune in general, and is often shown carrying a biwa (Japanese mandolin) or playing a lute. She is often represented as a beautiful woman with the power to assume the form of a serpent, or shown seated on a dragon or serpent and playing a lute. In fact, the snake is almost always associated with Benzaiten, who was originally a Hindu deity (Sarasvati) who represented learning, music and poetry. Such artistic learning and wisdom often bring prosperity, hence her inclusion in the Japanese group of seven luckies. She also has a jewel that grants desires. Some say it is a jade, while others say it is a pearl. These measure 1" tall and are signed in Japanesse ( see photo).

RARE 14KT GOLD PRe Civil war Aesthetic brooch

YUP, more from the LOUISIANA estate that has VOODOO and strange items that are out of our personal collection of , well lets say, a little creepy but totally rich in history of times when things were not written down, only passed along. This 14kt solid gold brooch has TEETH ( yup, REAL teeth) in it and as far as I can determine they are animal. In a rose colored world, I would like to think that someone loved their pet and once they passed kept these and had them mounted to cherish the memory. In a not so perfect world this did come from an estate where things were a bit creepy with voodoo and some not so explainable things came from. I am leaving this one up to you . This is marked 14kt and it is really quite a beautiful piece, teeth and all. Just look at the metalwork on this and you can tell it was made by a craftsman and the person who owned it was not a poor person. The estate we got these from was an antebellum ( period immediately prior to the Civil War (1861-1865). ( pre civil war ) plantation house in Louisiana . I do know that the family was very prestigious and they were wealthy plantation cotton kings. This is in really great condition and something you will probably never see again, much less with the limited history I have for it. IF you want to own a piece of folk lore or possibly a very real piece of the Louisiana culture, then this piece will certainly do the trick. It is 2 ½" long, ¾" at its widest and ½" thick. NOT a reproduction and in complete ORIGINAL condition. Don’t miss out at the last minute!

Not the best shape but such a rare piece that I doubt you will ever see another like it. This measures 2" long. IT is all original. Just a little history on how insects became a part of the fashion world. The aesthetic period brought about some of the most unusual pieces .In the late 1800's, Darwin's controversial theories on evolution, as well as new botanical discoveries taking place, created quite an interest in the natural world. What a rare treat this is to see a genuine antique cherub bracelet that has these wonderful faces on it! There are what looks like snakes or dragons that wrap like vines around the heads. Antique 1800's CAMEO ORIG BOX Wreath CROWN NR
This is an early 1800’s Shell relief cameo and is in what I think is the original box.
Cameos, hardstones carved in relief, were first explored in antiquity but gained popularity at the sixteenth-century court of Emperor Rudolf II in Prague; the city became famous for the cutting and fashioning of stones.
Employing stonecutters from Italy, the Netherlands, and Germany, Rudolf encouraged a cultural renaissance in cameos as well as in other arts. Both the cameo medium and the ancient Roman subject matter reflect the court's great interest in reviving antiquity.
During the Renaissance, Pope Paul II was an avid cameo collector. According to history, this love ultimately led to his death. His excessive display of carved gems and stones on his fingers kept his hands so cold that he caught the chill that meant his death.
This is an unset cameo that has a highly detailed roman head with the wreath of leaves around it. It has not been cleaned. This measures a little under 1 ½" long and 1 ¼" wide. The box is 2 ¾" x 2" and has a jeweler ( spelled C G Paulsen Juveler ( guildsmed ) .It is a real treat to own this and hope it finds its way to a very good home!

MID 1800's CZECH GLASS BAROQUE heavy necklace & LONG Drop earrings

This heavy necklace has these amazing czech 2 color ( peridot color and tortoise color) givre glass hand faceted beads as well as heavy metal 2 sided links that just make this fit for a QUEEN. MUCH more extravagant than the photos can even suggest, this is a fabulous antique parure. The necklace measures 17 1/2" long around the neck and it has a slide in czech rhinestone clasp. The center piece on this is extraordinary with a mottled czech glass stone set in a heavy two sided setting that is 1 1/2". THe earrings are 2 3/4" long ( I think the tops were replaced at some time with gold filled wires). These amazing decorative links on all the pieces are solid and actually have designs on all four sides. From the mid 1800's this is a set to behold and would be great for high end collectors.

VINTAGE ETCHED Victorian SILVER hinged signed bracelet

There are lots of old sterling bracelets out there but this one has some extra bells and whistles that none of them have. And every piece you see that is marked Siam is usually Nielloware. This has its original safety chain and the neat old crown sliding catch. Inside it is marked Siam sterling and is you know anything about Siam jewelry, there were two lines. One was the hindu enamel goddesses and then the higher quality line like these. This measures 7" long on the inside and is ½" wide. IT is so well made that when you wear it there is perfect balance.

BIZARRE Victorian 14kt ROSE GOLD CLAW & Genuine CORAL Ball Stick pin

The Romantic era and Darwin's theory brought about a new fascination with nature, adding Eden-like symbols such as the serpent, grapes, flowers, and birds to the 'romantic' motif. This , to me is one of the more mysterious symbols. Reminds you of Medieval times when birds would hold the jewels of the queen. This is 14kt rose gold and it holds a real angelskin coral ball that is 10mm. Angelskin coral was popular in the victorian period and is pretty hard to find anymore. This one measures 2 3/4" long and stands out 1/2" wide. In great shape with nice detail this is a real collectible. THe ribs on the pin were to hold delicate materials in place.

Antique RUSSIAN arts & Crafts Inlaid amethyst BROOCH

Handiwork and slight flaws or asymmetries were embraced in Arts and Crafts style design because they highlighted the work of the individual artist . Most people don’t’ know this but most Arts and Crafts jewelers began their careers in other artistic pursuits like painting or architecture and learned the jewelry trade to a large extent through trial and error. This piece has a genuine cabochon( popular during this period as pieces that were faceted were frowned upon) of amethyst with INLAID sterling inside in a floral leaf like pattern. Obviously not an easy task to carve our this design in such a small stone. The artist that created this type of jewelry often traveled in the same circles with the Pre-Raphaelites, sharing ideas about design and aesthetics and as in this piece, a great deal of the designs were inspired by nature and organic forms. Leaves, flowers and birds were common motifs.
Arts and Crafts jewelers chose to use less precious metals like copper, brass, (this one is brass and silver) aluminum, and silver that revealed the hammer marks of the jeweler. You can see these marks on the long bar of this piece. The focus and philosophy remained that each piece of work should be created from start to finish by the same pair of hands. It became a style appreciated and purchased only by an elite portion of the aesthetically oriented middle class. To have this piece survive is such a wonderful thing because the work from that late 1800 period is gone and will never be seen again. This brooch is over 3 ½” long and the cabachon center is over ½”. Russian work is noted for inlay and design in metal and precious jewels. This one was sold to us by a family that carried it and other antique pieces from their home country. Since these pieces are one of a kind it is a chance for you to own something that was made it such artistry that it can never be duplicated.

Victorian SWEETHEART 2 PC Chatelaine BROOCH

This is an early deco Sweetheart brooch that is 3" x 3". The repousse sword at the top holds a heart with something that has pierced it. These old sweetheart pieces are not that easy to find and this one is really quite the unusual one. This is old and is in very good shape less some silver wear on the chain.

Victorian Signed Coral Floral slide like Lavaliere Necklace

Take a look at the rich leaf chain that hold this coral flower pendant. Very feminine and most unusual this long necklace is really prettier than the photos. The necklace is 17” long and then you can add to that the drop which is 6”. The pendant is 2” wide and marked Japan on the back. The pendant comes to a point at the top and as you can see there is a tiny coral cab on the part that looks like a slide.
