GORGEOUS DECO Chrysoprase sterling necklace

Exquisite does not begin to describe this 1920's art deco sterling and genuine chrysoprase necklace ( I have the earrings, bracelet and ring also listed). The chrysoprase stone on this is such an eerie color that illuminates and almost glows. Chrysoprase is one of the most prized varieties of quartz. Higher quality specimens often rival fine jade, for which it is sometimes mistaken. And this is one of the finest qualities, in my opinion.Prussian king, Frederick the Great, adorned his palace with objects and furniture made fully or partly of chrysoprase. His favorite ring was set with a large chrysoprase surrounded by 15 brilliant stones (presumably diamonds). Reportedly, Frederick never took this ring off. He also carried a walking stick with a knob of chrysoprase.Metaphysical characteristics attributed to the gemstone today include soothing heartache and loneliness, and promoting emotional balance. It also is said to relieve gout, eye problems and mental illness. This necklace is 16" around the neck with an additional 2" drop. The lacy floral panels that hold this amazing pendant are so fine and beautiful, it is hard to believe they are metal. Add in to this beautiful mix of metal work are brilliant marcasites ( all original). The pendant itself is a very nouveau looking leaf design with this large center open back stone. The large florettes that run up the necklace are so very detailed and they look like silver lace. This is in excellent condition and would be the type of piece you pass onto your children. I am thrilled it has survived all these years and in such fine condition.

Georgian Silver Chrysoprase Drop Necklace & LONG drop earrings

This rare set has some of the most beautiful artisan work all the way from the chain to the intricate layered metal bezels that hold these genuine Chrysoprase stones. This set is 800 silver and is so absolutely beautiful that you can’t help but to stare when you see it. This is much older than most of my Chrysoprase pieces . You are getting the necklace and drop earrings ( I have a bracelet that matches as well below this). The earrings are so feminine and a fine example of Georgian jewelry. These measure 2 1/2” long and are screw on. The ear wires are not 800 silver. The necklace is 15” long and the longest drop is almost 1 1/2” long. All the stones are original and have a rich eerie hue to them. The silver has a rich patina which shows off these amazing stones. Add the bracelet to this and you will have three pieces that should be in a museum, they are that great!

FABULOUS Antique STERLING genuine Chrysoprase Bracelet

This has genuine Chrysoprase, which is something that is rare in itself , and is set in a bracelet that is over 100 years old. Not to mention this is one of the finest victorian bracelets there is. The crafstmanship on this exquisite with ornate hand wrought scrolled filigree. Each stone is bezel set and has the richest and eeriest soothing color to it. Chrysoprase is one of the most prized varieties of quartz. Higher quality specimens often rival fine jade, for which it is sometimes mistaken. And this is one of the finest qualities, in my opinion. Prussian king, Frederick the Great, adorned his palace with objects and furniture made fully or partly of chrysoprase. His favorite ring was set with a large chrysoprase surrounded by 15 brilliant stones (presumably diamonds). Reportedly, Frederick never took this ring off. He also carried a walking stick with a knob of chrysoprase. The stone has also been renowned as having unusual powers. In the Middle Ages, it was believed that if you put a piece of chrysoprase in your mouth, you would become invisible, and Romanian folklore claims chrysoprase enabled its owner to understand the language of lizards. Metaphysical characteristics attributed to the gemstone today include soothing heartache and loneliness, and promoting emotional balance. It also is said to relieve gout, eye problems and mental illness This has its original safety chain and it has a good sturdy working slide in clasp. The width is 7/8" x 6" and it is in great condition. $325.00 Please use this # when ordering ga33354

Vintage SIGNED Czech DECO chrysoprase fancy necklace

This necklace has such a beautiful combination of chrysoprase, green czech glass and rhinestones! The clasp is a slide in one and signed Czechoslovakia. The center piece is etched silver frames with faceted chrysoprase squares that are open backed. The length around the neck is 15”. This has all its original stones and metal work. THe silver has worn on the metal between the round glass beads. It is a lovely piece that has a little age, but is so pretty that it makes up for that.

Vintage OLD Deco Chrysoprase CZECH SIGNED NECKLACE Czechoslovakia

SIGNED Czechoslovakia on the back, this drop dead gorgeous chrysoprase necklace is a real bookpiece! Exceptional workmanship along with these fantastic stones make it a real work of art. The stone, known as the favorite gemstone of Alexander the Great, has an apple green hue and is one of the most cheering colors of the stone kingdom. One one of the qualities of this stone is that of emotional uplifting. To think this necklace is almost 100 years old gives you the knowledge that it has given good fortune to all that have owned and worn it. The condition is very good and the beautiful marcasite like settings accent these fabulous open back stones! The necklace is 16" long and the largest pendant is a little over 1" wide. The faceted chrysoprase is even prettier than the photos. The delicate silver chain is made of slender and shorter links which give it a lace effect. The etched settings for these stones are only found in the deco period. These are hard to find pieces and I have brought out one more ( a carnelian) that I am also offering below

PERIOD PIECE ART DECO Chrysoprase LONG STUNNING RING

This is for a piece right from the 1920’s. NOT a reproduction. This has not only the large chrysoprase stone but also the beautiful etchings on the bottom of the setting. Accented with marcasites this 1 ¼" LONG setting is truly an extraordinary piece. The deco design of this shows how the artisans really made things that were so elegant that you can only take a deep breath when you see them. If you wear this people will definitely OHHH and ahhhh. This is really well made and a good quality piece that has been well loved and cared for. It is a size 5 and in my opinion in excellent condition. All the marcasites are original too. When you hold the ring up to the light you can see thru the stone with a very eerie essence.

Vintage CARNELIAN etched DROP deco necklace

These necklaces are seen in many of the books on deco jewelry and are hard to find these days. This one has the most amazing etched slender link chain that matches the etched open back settings. The genuine carnelian stones are full of fire and absolutely stunning. The necklace is 16" long around the neck with an additional 1 1/2" carnelian and marcasite butterfly drop. I have always collected these and it has taken many years to get the few I have to offer. I am also selling the chrysoprase one like this this week as well. I hope these find good homes because they are such a wonderful example of deco jewelry and they need to shown off and adored!

Vintage DECO Signed Queens jewels Parure bracelet & Drop earrings

These stones are really rare and if you hold them to the light they change from Purple to blue to magenta and they sparkle like they have a fire under them. These are called czech sugar stones ( I guess because they are bumpy?)and are fit for a QUEEN! . Set in Edwardian settings with lots of tiny seed pearls that frame these fabulous cabachons, this set is one of the finest I have sold and is even more amazing in person. The thickness of the settings, the rich metal work and the golden hue of vintage gilt patina all set in filigree settings just makes this a piece that should be in a museum. REALLY gorgeous and truly something you may never see another of. I am so glad this is in such great shape with all the pieces that make it up . The bracelet is signed Germany Us Zone ( dates in the 1945 and 1955 era or WW11) and the earrings are not signed. US Zone Germany was one of the four zones Germany was divided into at the end of World War II, when it was occupied by the United States. During this post-war time, German manufacturers were banned from exporting goods, although American authorities allowed the sale of certain commodities,”but only if labeled “Made in US Zone Germany”. The victorian / deco drops on these earrings are to die for! Absolutely magnificent these can be worn with or without this tremendous bracelet. They measure 2 1/4” long and are open backed. This is the piece that will impress and bring out envy from all your friends! The bracelet is 7 1/4” long x 1 1/3” wide.

Vintage ART NOUVEAU Galalith CAMEO Black Bracelet

In 1898, Wilhelm Krische, patented one of the first plastics. But he had no way of knowing that 30 years later, Coco Chanel would take the "milk stone" and would help it make a final breakthrough in the costume jewelry industry. It is indeed usually French, but also was produced in Germany. French Bakelite or Galalith was used in the 1920’s- 1930’s and as is so often the case in the world of inventions, discovered by accident. Krische was commissioned to develop white school boards that could be wiped off but that would not burn, as German teachers no longer wanted to write on blackboards using white chalk, but instead wanted to get their message across black on white. Although critical experiments with the milk protein casein were in vain with regard to the original commission, the horn-like plastic from the element of milk had been discovered, even if no one really knew what to use it for. Krische put the finishing touches to his discovery in cooperation with the chemist Adolf Spitteler. They even changed and improved its characteristics by treating casein with formaldehyde. Galalith, the material made of milk, reached its absolute golden age shortly before the Second World War. Shortly after this, the production of galalith for jewelry purposes was initially restricted and then even banned. Upon the outbreak of war, milk was needed primarily for daily nutritional requirements, while the residual production of galalith was primarily for electro-technical purposes. After the end of the war, the material was suppressed by modern plastics that could be cast and heat-molded. This is a very early Galalith cameo bracelet with just a hint of red on the edges. The photos show that if you look closely. The cameo woman is very Art nouveau with flowing hair and a dress that drapes over her shoulder with flowers. The soft porcelain like skin makes her quite the catch!. The bangle measures 8” long on the inside and is 1 ¼” at its widest. IT has the feel of bakelite with the slick feeling you get when you rub your fingers across it, but it does not test as bakelite. Other than a small chip on her backing frame she is in very good condition and really needs a home where she will be loved and adored.

RARE DECO Lady SIGNED Miniature Metal Figurine

This is for an antique ( not a reproduction) metal figurine that has this fabulous outfit on that is right out of Hollywood. She has these wonderful hand painted flowers on the back and on her shoulder. The figurine has two signatures on the bottom. I can ‘t make out either but they are very distinct. I can only make out the letter E. This figurine is 2 ½" tall and I am fairly certain she is made of lead like the old army soldiers. She is heavy for her size. The paint loss is minimal. What a great old piece! .She would be great in an old doll house

RARE EGYPTIAN ENAMEL Pharaoh Pyramid DECO Bracelet

These enamel bracelets from the Egyptian revival period are far and few between much less the ones with different panels. Thanks to a helpful ebayer I have the following information on these panels. "It seems to depict Nefertiti in the middle, Rameses on the left, and the two smaller pyramids at Giza. Looking at the Great Pyramid, you can't see much of the other two. I find it unusual to have Rameses on this with Nefertiti, as she reigned in the 18th dynasty and Rameses in the 19th. But, her husband, Akhenaton (Amenhotep IV) is not as well known as Rameses," This one is solid gilt brass and measures 7" long x 1 1/4". Probably could be worn a bit smaller since it has extra brass rings on the end. This one also has the Crossed panels between the figural ones. Gentle enamel wear and lots of wonderful old patina make this a piece that shows its age well!.

BOOKPIECE victorian 12 st ormolu PARURE fit for a QUEEN

This is an antique demi parure of gilt ormolu with a wide fancy etched hidden clasp on both the bracelet and the necklace. This is heavy and well made and each one has 12 strands of gilt brass beads. The clasps are very Victorian and they are ORIGINAL to each other and to that time period. Just the size of these commands attention. Definitely fit for a queen. I have seen these in one or two of the antique jewelry books and they have a nice high tidy price on them. These are not just gilt brass, they have the rich color of the ormolu that makes them quite special. The necklace measures 15" long on the shortest strand with a FIVE inch drop . The bracelet measures 7" x 1 ¾" wide. These are for the high end collector and are great old period pieces. The 2nd and 3rd photo show two views of the same set.
